is your sword forged in hatred? [/meta]

posted by kate @ 12:41 AM 12/8/2005
Swordsmanship's first achievement is the unity of man and sword. Once this unity is attained even a blade of grass can be a weapon.

The second achievement is when the sword exists in one's heart when absent from one's hand. One can strike an enemy at paces even with bare hands.

Swordsmanship's ultimate achievement is the absence of the sword in both hand and heart. The swordsman is at peace with the rest of the world. He vows not to kill and to bring peace to mankind.

This is my final entry for knucklecracker.blogspot.com.

I am about to begin a new chapter in my life, and it's only fitting to create a new online journal to document it. Right now I'm like a kid armed with fresh notebooks for the coming school year =)

You will find my new entries at http://knucklecracker.wordpress.com Please update your links accordingly.

It's not really goodbye, then. =) See ya!

the thing is

posted by cyril at 11:01 PM

to love life, to love it even

when you have no stomach for it

and everything you've held dear

crumbles like burnt paper in your hands,

your throat filled with the silt of it.

When grief sits with you, its tropical heat

thickening the air, heavy as water

more fit for gills than lungs;

when grief weights you like your own flesh

only more of it, an obesity of grief,

you think, How can a body withstand this?

Then you hold life like a face

between your palms, a plain face,

no charming smile, no violet eyes,

and you say, yes, I will take you

I will love you, again.

Dear Mama,

posted by cyril at 12:50 AM

February was a tough month for me, and I'm not sure that I handled it well. There were times when I felt so helpless and wished you were here to fight my battles for me.

Then I realized that that was never your style. You taught me to always give a good fight, secure in the knowledge that you'd be on my side no matter what the outcome.

And so I fight -- my birthday gift to you.

Belated Happy 58th, Mother dear =)

How cute is David Archuleta (American Idol)? I want to adopt him!

Watch him sing John Lennon's "Imagine" (risky choice). This early, I am willing to bet he will be Season Seven's American Idol.

P.S. Palagpasin na natin ang disturbing comment ni Paula Abdul.

We asked God to make the rain stop and He did, literally and figuratively. ;)
